Though they tried to recreate the spectacular success of Mama Mia’s stage show on the silver screen, they were not entirely successful. The movie is much more grandeur than the stage show. The movie is about Sophie [Amanda Seyfried], the young bride-to-be, inviting three men to her wedding on the idyllic Greek island of Kalokairi, where she lives with her ex-hippy mum Donna [Meryl Streep]. She believes that one of the men (Pierce Brosnan, Collin Firth and Stellan Skarsgard) is her father. Donna reaction to the three men is the crutch of the movie. The sweet song of the Band ABBA blends well in the musical.
