Experiments have been recorded showing that plant growth can be helped with music. A woman tested her theory of music on plants by first playing tones of music at certain intervals. One group of plants had a constant tone directed at them, another had a tone play on and off, and the last group had no tone played at all. The plants with the constant tone was in the worst condition at the end of the experiment and the plants with the tone on and off looked best.

Her next experiment included playing the radio to the plants. She used a jam band or rock station and a classical station. The plants at the end of the second experiment showed drastic results. The plants with the rock music using artists like Buckethead were tall but drooping while the plants listening to classical music were growing amazingly well. Through other experiments using albums of popular rock bands she found that the plants either leaned towards the radio or away. When the bands or DJs used percussion such as Bassnectar the plants leaned away, when using steel drums the plants leaned slightly away, and when using strings the plants bent towards the radio.
